This module connects your citizen-facing web transactions to the Government Gateway, quickly and easily. This allows you to use the strongly secure pan-Government authentication services fully integrated with Toplevel's solutions. Toplevel are Government Gateway Alliance Partners with EDT.
The Government Gateway is an e-government product provided by the Cabinet Office e-Government Unit (formerly Office of the e-Envoy) on behalf of the UK Government, to assist in ensuring delivery of the commitment to provision of government transactions electronically by 2005.
Due to their market leading position in the provision of e-forms solutions, Toplevel Computing have developed a new module for the Toplevel Server - GovLink - which provides integration between Toplevel products and the Gateway's user authentication and secure document submission services.
GovLink is an optional extra Toplevel Server Module. It is simple to install as part of the Toplevel Server and integrates with the Server and with the citizen in a way which will be instantly familiar to anyone used to developing solutions, and will be clear for users new to the product range.

- Make it easy to integrate with Government Gateway authentication services, such that users logging on can be authenticated against registered users on the Gateway.
- Provide the flexibility to use the Government Gateway Authentication Services and/or its Transaction Engine either together or separately with other Authentication and Transaction Services, including Toplevel’s “Citizen Account” inbuilt logon and authentication facilities.
- Allow systems to detect if a user is enrolled for a particular service, and, if they are, check the details of each enrolment, which can then be used to offer the user a choice. For example, someone who acts as secretary for more than one charity would separately enrolled for each charity and would therefore be offered a choice of charities.
- Allow our solutions to access and respond to the various different types of roles that the Gateway registration and enrolment service supports; individual users, group users and users acting as agents.
- Easily create the correctly formatted XML to pass to the Government Gateway.
- Provide the ability to pass known facts and keys to the Government Gateway.
