Toplevel passes rigorous vetting to gain
ISO9001 certification
Toplevel Computing has taken another key step in its quest to deliver the best in technical solutions and after-sales solutions by achieving ISO9001 certification.
"While many customers regard ISO9001 as a baseline for quality when inviting tenders, we saw gaining certification as more than a way to put a tick in another box," says Jane Roberts, Toplevel's Sales and Marketing Director. "For us, it’s about moving our own business forward for the benefit of ourselves and our customers. Our success in winning new business means we’re growing rapidly. We want to make sure we have the right management processes in place to ensure we grow in a controlled fashion and continue to maintain the high standards our customers have come to expect."
ISO9001 certification ensures Toplevel has robust processes in place for R&D to create new solutions and for testing of new developments. This includes working with external assessors such as specialist IT security consultancy NTA Monitor, which recently carried out a review of the security of Toplevel’s solutions. "Our customers are increasingly relying on us to partner with them in delivering ‘mission critical’ applications," says Roberts. "We need to ensure we deliver solutions that can stand up under stress, and that we have support procedures in place to quickly and appropriately address any issues that do arise."
Customer service is another area that will be strengthened by Toplevel’s ISO9001 certification. "We can be sure we have sound procedures for dealing with customers, and that they’re applied consistently," says Roberts. "We can also be confident that all staff will be thoroughly trained to a high standard, and that customers will continue to receive a speedy and responsive service even as we recruit and train up significant numbers of new staff."
Toplevel will be re-audited annually, with a comprehensive audit every three years, to confirm it is maintaining the high standards demanded for IS09001 certification. In addition, the company has appointed a Quality Manager who is not only responsible for maintaining Toplevel’s ISO9001 certification but who will also develop processes for reviewing and strengthening the company’s operations on an ongoing basis.
"We’ve always prided ourselves on being a well-managed company," says Roberts. "One aspect of good management is recognising the need for consistency as well as quality in all aspects of your operations. Our ISO9001 certification is a tangible demonstration of how seriously we take our commitment to be a partner customers can rely on."
