Cornwall County Council has chosen Toplevel’s new online booking system – BookingOffice – to streamline their internal and external booking services. The Council plan to use BookingOffice in a variety of areas, including booking for training courses and facilities at Council-owned parks.

Initially, BookingOffice will be used make a significant improvement to the Council’s registration services. Members of the public will be able to book an appointment online with one of the 11 register offices, rather
than using the phone or visiting the offices in person.

BookingOffice will also be implemented internally, with Council Information Centre staff filling in electronic booking forms on behalf of the public. This will be followed by a launch to the general public over the internet, although there will still be an option to book over the phone.

Paul Bartell, e-government project manager at Cornwall County Council says:

“In addition to BookingOffice making online booking more accessible to the public, it will also help the Council meet the BVPI 157 targets set by the government.”

BookingOffice will also be used by Council staff to book internal meeting rooms, training courses and appointments. The system will give employees an up-to-date view of the facilities which have been booked, improving efficiency and eliminating problems such as double booking.
